I have dreamt of visiting The Resort at Paws Up for ten years as I have always been fond of the mountains and lakes and had a special place in my heart for Montana. I grew concerned just before departing for The Resort at Paws Up which is just a 40 minute drive from Missoula, a charming college town where the airport is located. I had built this property up in my head to the point that I feared it may not be as extraordinary and perfect as I had envisioned. Fortunately, I was wrong, it was just as spectacular and breath taking as I had hoped. I arrived to the ranch and was welcomed by warm, genuine employees of the resort who call the resort home. Many of them live on property or within miles of the property. I first knew them for their “Glamping” or glamorous camping experiences as they were really the ones to start this new category of accommodation, while they also included beautiful estates and luxury homes in their portfolio of offerings for guests.

When I travel, I have trouble sitting and relaxing, at The Resort at Paws Up you have the opportunity to just this or enjoy a wide variety of activities as I did. I felt so fortunate to be able to enjoy an assortment of different offerings the resort extends to its guests in just a few short days.

I had the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding while leading the cattle back home, ATVing both on and off property trails, clay shooting and target practice, and a ropes course.

I happened to visit the property over a special weekend known as ‘Uppercrust’ which allowed me to get my hands doughy and learn from some of the top bakers and experts in the nation on homemade, heavenly desserts and pizzas. I had a lot of fun along with the other guests in the intimate classes included on property, enjoying hands on, one of a kind kitchen adventures. My favorite recipe was for the huckleberry pie that I packaged and brought home to share with my loved ones all the way from Montana.

I loved every minute of my stay, my only regret is that I did not have more time here. This property is amazing for families, something for all ages and a wonderful children’s program that will allow the kids to have their own western experience. If you love being outdoors and can appreciate natures beauty, you must visit The Resort at Paws Up, I can confidently say you will be glad you took the time to visit, it is truly first class.
