Navigating The New Cdc Travel Order In 2021 With Ease

My top priority as your travel advisor is to help equip you with the knowledge you need to travel safely, comfortably, and confidently.

You may have heard that, beginning January 26th, a new CDC order requires that all travelers (over two years old) returning to the U.S. from any international destination provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Just as you would wear a mask and practice social distancing in public areas, this new requirement is another opportunity to bring peace of mind that you and those around you are healthy and safe.

And while new regulations don’t always imply ease, I am here to help you navigate this new travel landscape effortlessly. Continue reading to understand how this applies to your international travel experiences — from flights to accommodations — and how our preferred partners are working to build comfort and convenience (including new on-site testing!) into each travel moment.

Short on time? Here’s a concise summary: with a simple plan in place, you can travel confidently and exceptionally this year simply by getting in touch.

International Affairs

What You Need To Know Before You Fly

The new CDC order requires travelers to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before departing for the U.S. from any international location.

You should know:

  • The CDC order goes into effect on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
  • A viral test must be taken within 3 days of departure for all air passengers (2 years of age and above), regardless of citizenship status.
  • Travelers who have received a COVID-19 vaccination are not exempt from this regulation, and must provide proof of a negative test result.
  • If you have recovered from COVID-19, you will need to provide proof of recovery within the last 3 months. To do this, you must present both proof of a positive test and a letter from a licensed health care provider or public health official confirming you have been cleared for travel.
  • In addition to the test results, travelers must sign and present a completed CDC Attestation Form to the airline representative.
  • Airlines are required to confirm or deny boarding to each passenger based on the documentation provided. This is applicable to both commercial and private flights.

  • For additional peace of mind, I highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance upon booking.

The New Turndown Service

Rapid Testing Available At Luxury Hotels (New!)

I am pleased to share that many of our international hotel partners (including those featured below) now offer efficient on-site COVID-19 testing! This process is streamlined and simple, and will provide you with the documentation you will need to show upon check-in at your departure airport. I recommend storing your results on your phone for easy access, and/or keeping a printed copy with your passport and travel documents to ensure your check-in at the airport is as efficient as possible. Moreover, I can arrange for your chauffeured private transfer to arrive at the airport early, leaving you ample time to catch your flight home.

I am thrilled to work with a network of travel partners who are dedicated to providing comfort and flexibility should you test positive on site. Many are committed to offering discounts and increasing their services for any guest who needs to quarantine.
